The principal objective of the Attorney-General's Department is to provide essential support and expert advice to the Commonwealth Government on a wide range of legal and policy issues to achieve a just and secure society.

Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be Australian Citizens, or be Australian Citizens by the commencement of the program and hold, as a minimum, a qualification equivalent to a three-year Australian undergraduate degree by 31 December 2008 to commence in February 2009 or by 30 June 2009 to commence in July 2009.  Applicants must also meet normal Australian Public Service requirements which include health, security and character clearances, and evidence of qualifications.
