Ergon Energy services an area extending across 97% of regional Queensland – over one million square kilometres – from the burgeoning coastal and rural population centres, to the remote communities of outback Queensland and the Torres Strait.
We own and operate 33 stand-alone power stations, providing supply to isolated communities across Queensland not connected to the main electricity grid.
Who we recruit
Our 2008 Graduate Program recruitment intake will comprise of both Electrical and Civil Engineering placements.
Program Structure
Ergon Energy’s Graduate Program is a three-year rotational plan, allowing you to experience various business divisions. As our organisation is geographically and functionally diverse, the rotations are a key component of our Graduate Program and you’ll get to travel and live in locations, such as Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton and Toowoomba.
Once you start work
Firstly, you will be assigned a mentor, who is specifically selected for you and will provide support, informal advice and guidance to help you optimise your time as an Ergon Energy Graduate.
Then you’ll receive a tailored development plan, giving you clear direction on our commitment, to helping you to maximise your learning and development.
You will be given access to post-graduate studies and support to achieve chartered status with an appropriate institution, as well as training in the core leadership skills we believe you will need to become one of our future leaders.
And you will never feel alone. Not only do we have a dedicated Graduate Program Team who will answer your questions, you will have many opportunities to meet and network with your fellow graduates, both new and “well-seasoned”. Our past graduates will teach you the ropes and let you know how to get the best out of your program.
At the end of the program
With the experience and insight you will have gained, you will certainly recognise in which area you wish to gain more experience and will be able to apply for any role within our organisation you feel will extend your career and development.
