I graduated from Bond University in June 2006 with a Bachelor of Law and International Relations. When I began applying for graduate positions ASIO was high on my list of possibilities. I was attracted to the combination of exciting work in a unique environment and the quality of analytical training ASIO offers. My first few months were tremendously interesting: a whirl of challenges, information and new perspectives, all within a very supportive and professional environment.

The communication and critical thinking skills derived from studying law are central to my work as an Analyst. These core skills have been enhanced through extensive training provided by my peers, managers and the Organisation’s comprehensive internal program. To date, my most enjoyable projects have been writing briefing notes and facilitating meetings for key decision makers.

Opportunities to develop my career abound, ranging from internal mobility arrangements, secondments within the Australian Intelligence Community, and even overseas placements. The Organisation offers graduates key roles in protecting Australia’s national security. In the long term I hope to experience as many of the varied opportunities ASIO offers as possible.
