International Students

Migrating to Australia

If you’ve been lucky enough to study ‘down under’ then you’ll no doubt already know that Australia is not only a great place to get a first-rate education, it’s also a fantastic place to live and work.

Increasingly, international students who study in Australia choose to apply for permanent residency (PR) and live and work indefinitely in Australia after they finish their studies.

As an overseas student you may be eligible for permanent residency under Australia’s General Skilled Migration program (GSM) if you are between the ages of 18 and 44. You must also have completed at least two years of approved full-time study in Australia and be able to satisfy a number of other eligibility requirements.

If you are successful in obtaining your PR you will be eligible to apply for the many interesting and exciting graduate programs listed on this site (browse the A–Z list of employers).

Did you know that if you have recently completed a course of study in Australia and you wanted to apply for your visa on-shore, you must lodge a valid application for migration under the skilled program, or a Skilled Graduate Visa, within 6 months of completing your course? What happens if you can’t apply within 6 months?
